Once more, Chorus Angelicus & Gaudeamus joins forces with the tremendous choirs of St. Patrick-St. Anthony church, this time to bring to life the extraordinarily comforting and humane Ein Deutsches Requiem by German composer Johannes Brahms, a masterwork distinguished by its sumptuous choral writing, ingenious orchestration, and a deep tone of gentle reassuring rather than the overwhelming sorrow of other Requiem settings: an un-missable event to let the soul bask in the depth of vocal splendor!

Washington Post-Concert Reception

 
Following the concert in Washington, Dr. Gabriel Löfvall will bring to life Brahm's Ein Deutsches Requiem, a masterwork distinguished by sumptuous choral writing and ingenious orchestration, evoking depths of gentle reassurance, rather than the sorrow of other Requiems. Dr Löfvall's talk will focus on the significance of this colossal masterwork in the history of music, and the special appeal it attains as being interpreted by young singers.
