Renowned organist, Olivier Latry, titular organist at Notre Dame in Paris, returns to Hartford to play an exciting program on the Cathedral’s amazing organs. The program will feature French organ masterworks, improvisations, and the mighty Messe Solennelle, Op. 16, for two organs and mixed choir, by Louis Vierne, a work celebrated for its sumptuous harmonies and ominous resonances.
The skillful voices of Chorus Angelicus and Gaudeamus, The Cathedral Schola Cantorum and Archdiodesan Youth Choir, will join Maestro Latry and Dr. Ezequiel Menéndez for this unique event, to bring Vierne’s powerful Messe Solennelle to life: an evening not to be missed!
