"The Angelic Choir"
Chorus Angelicus was founded in 1991 and now comprises four choral ensembles, involving more than seventy children who hail from towns throughout southwestern New England
Gaudeamus
"Let Us Rejoice"
Gaudeamus is an adult chamber choir of professional and semi-professional free lance singers formed in 1992, and often performs larger works in conjunction with Chorus Angelicus
About Us
This internationally acclaimed children’s choir has impressed audiences with the best of choral music, both sacred and secular, since its founding in 1991 by Grammy Award winning composer and keyboardist Paul Halley. Performances have included collaborations with the Hartford Symphony and the Paul Winter Consort in venues such as Boston’s Symphony Hall, the Music Shed in Norfolk, CT, the Warner Theater in Torrington, CT, and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City. Chorus Angelicus has also toured nationally in Florida and the Pacific Northwest, and internationally in Canada, Spain, and Ireland.

Chorus Angelicus Temporary Measures
update March 2022
With the recent developments in the course of the pandemic, showing very low community-level transmission rates, and in compliance with Governor Lamont’s lifting of the statewide mask mandate in schools, CHORUS ANGELICUS has determined that our singers will be asked to wear masks only when singing during rehearsals and performances. Social distancing at rehearsal is thus eliminated. We are thrilled that we can now host concerts in person, and, as restrictions are eased, our audiences will be welcome in larger numbers at our venues. These mild restrictions continue to be in the interest of the safety and health of our students, staff, and audiences. More details will be shared as the pandemic dwindles and we will, as usual, adhere to public policy and direction of our local health officials. Please stay safe and healthy, everyone.

A Message From Joyful Noise, Inc.
Joyful Noise stands in solidarity with all of those calling for justice and equity during this time of deep pain. As a choral organization, we know that voices are meant to be heard. We say the names of George Floyd, Tony McDade, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless other black and brown Americans taken unjustly. We honor their lives and mourn their murders. We join our voices with those across our state and nation to insist: Black Lives Matter.
We pledge to engage in education, self-reflection and action to uproot systems of oppression -- in our own choirs, in the choral community at large, and in our local towns and cities. We commit to working with intention and in community with our artists, students, families, neighbors and audiences to combat racial injustice.
